Family
& Children's Center Counseling and Development Services is an
affiliate of Family & Children's Center. Our team consists of
the area's most skilled and caring social workers, marriage and family
therapists, psychologists, case workers, family support specialists
and case managers.
The mission of Family & Children's Center Counseling and Development
Services is to empower individuals and families by promoting human
growth and dignity and preventing abuse through advocacy, education,
counseling and supportive services.
Here are just a few of the challenges we help families deal with through
counseling:
• Marriage, family and relationship issues
• Anger management
• Alcohol, drug and other addictions
• Depression and anxiety disorders
• Postpartum Depression
• Bereavement and grief recovery
• Parenting education |
Other services we provide include the St. Joseph County Healthy Families
program for teen parents and an emergency assistance
program to help individuals and families cope with crisis situations
related to food, rent, utilities and prescription medicine.
Services are available to all people without discrimination due to
race, age, color, sex, religion, disability, national origin, ancestry,
sexual orientation, status as a veteran or ability to pay.
Fees are based on the specific services provided and our clients’
abilities to pay. Fees may also be paid by insurance, managed care
networks, Medicaid and Medicare.
Funding is partially provided by United Way of St. Joseph County,
cities of South Bend and Mishawaka CDBG, as well as
private donations from individuals and corporations, administered
trusts and grants such as Martin’s Super Market’s Heat for
Homes and NIPSCO’s Gift of Warmth.
Each of the Family & Children's Center affiliates has its own
specific mission and serves our community in different ways according
to its resources and expertise.
But all share one common goal: leading the way to better lives! |
