Careful examination of relevant information and extensive interviewing are techniques used by Holy Cross to evaluate particular sexual behaviors, determine the extent of certain risks, and make appropriate treatment recommendations. Psychosexual assessments provide invaluable tools of assistance for addressing situations of substantiated or suspected sexual abuse, evaluating questionable child sexual behavior, and sentencing perpetrators of sexual assault.

Holy Cross Counseling program is well-known for comprehensive treatment of those who have committed sexually abusive acts. Holy Cross therapists are specialists in providing specific sexual recovery services that result in a recidivism rate of less than one percent with the offending population. Every client is trained to anticipate “triggers” that have led them to abusive or inappropriate behavior, and enlist non-abusive coping responses by practicing relapse prevention techniques using an approved containment program. Close, committed supervision is enhanced through use of monitoring tools, such as polygraph testing, in a secure, discreet environment.

Holy Cross Counseling program is dedicated to the resolution of trauma associated with sexual, physical or emotional abuse. Treatment services include group, individual and family therapy. The healing power of play therapy, used for treating children as young as two years old, can be especially helpful in addressing victimized children’s behavioral and emotional issues. Holy Cross’ adjunct services for non-offending partners and parents of children in treatment also are beneficial.
